Shera - The Mascot

Shera was first introduced to the world at the Closing Ceremony of the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, when he invited all those present to come and participate in the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010. As the true representative of India, Shera embodies values that the nation is proud of: majesty, courage, power and grace. He is also a reminder of the fragile environment he lives in. He is the most visible face of the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010, its key icon, and exhorts all citizens of India – young and old – to ‘Come Out and Play,’ to participate proactively in making the Games a huge success.
