NCC cadets to help smooth conduct of Commonwealth Games

Five thousand NCC Cadets are being trained for smooth conduct of the Commonwealth games 2010. Talking to reporters at the 61st anniversary of NCC formation, Lt. General R.K. Karwal said in New Delhi that infrastructural and financial support is required from the government to increase the number of cadets to an expected 15 lakh which is at present only 13 lakh of the country's total population.
AIR correspondent reports that like the Asian Games held in 1982, the cadets are expected to remain a passive force in the Commonwealth Games and support the authorities by managing traffic, disaster management control and other participatory activities.
